JTEI Special Issue

We invite submissions of expressions of interest for publication of revised presentation for the conference proceedings. The Journal of the Text Encoding Initiative has hosted the TEI conference proceedings since 2008, and we are delighted that it will be hosting again this year. In line with this year’s conference theme, “Creating Connections, Unsettling Practices,” we welcome authors whose work reflects critically on the structures, collaborations, tools, and methods that variously animate, sustain, modify, or challenge digital textual scholarship today. We especially hope to feature a range of work grounded in a commitment to anti-racist, feminist, and decolonial practices.

Details and Publication Timeline

• August 31, 2026: Expression of Interest due to teiconf2026@gmail.com
  • Submit the final text or slideshow of your presentation, a brief expansion and revision plan (max 200 words), and brief bios of all listed authors (100 words each).
  • You will receive brief feedback within two weeks from the proceedings editors to help you revise your presentation.
• December 1, 2026: Expanded papers due
  • Maximum 6000 words, inclusive of notes and references.
  • Submit to jTEI OJS, following the journal’s author guidelines: https://journal.tei-c.org/index.php/journal/about/submissions#authorGuidelines
  • You will receive feedback from the editors for initial review within 6 weeks.
• February 1, 2027: Revised papers due
• February 15, 2027: Full proceedings issue sent out for peer review
